A lack of information (free information, that is)

If there's one thing that frustrates me, its driving forty-five minutes into the Iowa countryside in search of a hiking spot (one which I found on the internet, no less) and finding my destination out of repair and the map I printed outdated and just plain misinformed.
How often, though, is that our experience out hiking in the midwest? How many times have you been surprised by the condition of the trials, the accuracy of the maps (or lack of maps), and the quality and upkeep of the hiking locations which state and county websites rave about? Isn't there anyone who would be willing to review these locations honestly, and provide midwesterners with some accurate information?
Well, let's hope I can do that. My name is Casey Dwyer, and I am a hiker, backpacker, and (most importantly) an avid researcher. My passion for hiking has led me to start up a (small) reviewing site devoted to finding the best places to hike in the Midwest (mainly Eastern Iowa).
I hope this blog will help you have an enjoyable experience on the trail, and thereby praise the Creator of it all with a joyful heart!
